Rail freight

Full container and wagonload rail freight on the North–South line and international through-services via China, with road haulage at both ends.

C.A.S LOGISTICS provides rail freight on the domestic North–South line and on international Vietnam–China through-services, connecting with China–Europe trains. Rail suits large-volume shipments that need stable costs and are less exposed to road congestion.

We organise the whole chain, from pick-up at your warehouse and trucking to the station, customs for international cargo, to delivery from the arrival station to the consignee, so you deal with a single contact for the entire journey.

Service options

  • Domestic North–South rail

Containers and wagonloads between freight stations on the North–South line, suited to large shipments that are not time-critical.

  • Vietnam–China international rail

Cargo to and from China through the Dong Dang (Lang Son) and Lao Cai international rail stations, with customs clearance at the station.

  • China–Europe connection

Containers travel from Vietnam to China and join China–Europe trains: a middle option between sea and air freight.

  • Road haulage at both ends

Pick-up at the shipper's warehouse to the departure station, and delivery from the arrival station to the consignee by container truck or lorry.

Process

The standard steps of a shipment. The actual flow can vary with the cargo, the route and the delivery terms.

  1. Step 1

    Enquiry and quotation

You send the cargo type, volume and the departure and destination stations or addresses; we advise on the route and the container or wagon type and quote.

  2. Step 2

    Booking and wagon planning

We register the transport plan, wagons or container slots with the rail operator and confirm the train schedule and the date to deliver to the station.

    • C/O (if any)
  5. Step 5

We follow the train, keep you updated and coordinate with partners at the transhipment or arrival station.
